National CPR / AED Awareness WeekCelebrate National CPR/AED Awareness Week by spreading the word about ProCPR.org and ProFirstAid.com to a friend or family member that you think would benefit from the training videos that we offer absolutely free of charge on our websites.  In December 2007, Congress passed a bill which designated the first week of June as National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Awareness Week.

There is no better time to learn CPR and First Aid, than the present.  It’s something that many people are afraid to learn, because they fear they might do it wrong, or because it teaches them that it could be something that they too could be faced with at some point in their life.  For many, it means a lifestyle change (smoking, exercise), and it’s not something that a lot of people want to deal with.

For instance, sudden cardiac arrest affects more than 300,000 people each year with a mortality rate over 92%. It can happen to anyone at anytime.  It has been known to happen on the sports field, in the office, while on a leisurely bike ride, or while driving.  Starting CPR as quickly as possible is critical, as has been shown time and time again, because the earlier you start, the greater the patients chances of survival.  Every minute that is wasted before CPR is started decreases the survival rate by a full 10%.  But bystanders do not need to be afraid to get involved.  Simply call 9-1-1 and get going on chest compressions, pressing hard and fast until advanced life support arrives.  Remember, good Samaritan laws give you protection.

CPR training is available for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, online at ProCPR.org and ProFirstAid.com.  Take the time to get informed and learn what it takes to save a life.  Get empowered to get involved if CPR is needed.  Get ProCPR.  You could give someone triple the chances of survival that they wouldn’t have had, otherwise.  Wouldn’t you want your friends to do the same for you?

Spread the word!
